Taekwondo was adopted as an Official Olympic Medal Sport in Sydney 2000. Taekwondo is now a modern Martial Sport with over 40 million practitioners. "Kukkiwon" The World Taekwondo Headquarters was built in 1972 Seoul, Korea and the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) was inaugurated in 1973. The WTF currently has over 179 member nations.
